Tour Itinerary Day 1 : Sunday A grand welcome on arrival (16.00 hrs) at Safdarjung Railway Station in Delhi. The plush Royal Rajasthan on Wheels Train takes you through a seven day colorful spell of this vibrant state. The magical journey begins from New Delhi and prepares you to weave the fabric of delightful imagination over the forthcoming week. This royal dream begins bubbling up from Delhi, where you will be received with royal honors of traditional Aarti, Tilak and garlanding at Safdarjung Railway Station. You will also be served with refreshing mock tails as a welcome drink. After check in, you would be escorted to your exclusive cabins by Royal Khidmatgar. Day 4: Wednesday (Arrival 11.30 Hrs | Departure 22.15 Hrs) Sawai Madhopur - This region explores the royalty of another kind. Being in the territory of wild where you get to hear tiger's echoing roar at Ranthambore National Park is an experience of the other kind. Visit the national park in eastern Rajasthan to catch a glimpse of majestic tigers in the open wilderness & also pay a visit to the imposing Ranthambore Fort to turn a page in the history of Rajasthan. Lunch on board. (Arrival 05.30 AM Breakfast on board or Hotel Vinayak | Departure 09.30 AM) Jaipur - Enjoy the Royal welcome by caparisoned elephants & sweet music of the auspicious Shehnai. Watch the awesome 'Hawa Mahal' (the palace of winds), elephants ride at Amber Fort, shopping of centuries old object de arts & other items. Lunch at a 5 star hotel / on board & visit to the city palace residence of the erstwhile Maharaja of Jaipur which houses a museum of amazing centuries-old artifacts & the observatory built by the founder of Jaipur Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh-II who himself was noted astronomer. Dinner hotel Jai Mahal Palace with a cultural program. Day 5 : Thursday (Arrival 10.00 AM Breakfast on board | Departure 20.00 Hrs) Khajuraho - Khajuraho was the capital of the Chandela Kings, who are believed to be the descendants of Moon God. They are accredited for erection of sculpted temples at Khajuraho. These magnificent temples were built between 950 A.D. and 1050 A.D. and are an excellent take on creative brilliance of those times. Devoted to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and the Jain Tirthankaras, these temples showcase the art and architecture of medieval India. Divided into three geographical groups - western, eastern and southern, these temples are an apogee of creative brilliance. May be that is the reason why these temples are known globally as World Heritage Sites. After morning meal on Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, tourists will visit the Western Group of Temples at Khajuraho, which is known worldwide as Kandariya Mahadev Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The largest of the Khajuraho Temples, this is an excellent specimen of central Indian temple architecture. Lunch at Hotel Clarks Khajuraho. After Lunch visit of Southern Group of Temples and Museum. Return to the luxury train evening tea, rest and shower. In the evening guest, tourists will witness Light & Sound Show (son-et-lumire) in the voice of Amitabh Bachchan, the superstar of the millennium. This narration will take them to the ancient and glorious era of Khajuraho, detailing the golden times in front of Western Group of Temples Complex. Return to Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, Dine lavishly on board and depart for Varanasi. Day 6 : Friday (Arrival 06.00 AM | Departure 21.00 Hrs.) Varanasi - Known colloquially as Banaras or Kashi, Varanasi is proudly the oldest city of the world. Dwelled around 3000 years ago, it is still known as the city of temples dedicated to Lord Shiva or Mahadeva. Located on the eastern banks of River Ganga, this city is famous more for its mystique of river fronts known as Ganga Ghats. There are more than 700 temples and 90 odd ghats in Varanasi. Another attraction in Varanasi is Vishwanatha Temple of Golden Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The riverfronts also attract many pilgrims for the holy dip and Aarti, conducted every morning and evening as a respect to the holy river. This sacred city over many thousand years has been a symbol of spirituality, philosophy and mysticism and has guided great saints and visionaries like Gautam Buddha, Mahavira, Tulsidas, Kabir, Shankaracharya, Ramanuja and Patanjali. It was the city chosen by the Buddha for turning the wheel or Dharma Chakra and preaching his first set of teachings to first followers. Next morning, cruise on to the gushing Ganges with an unforgettable boat ride along the riverfront. Visit Bharat Mata Mandir, the only temple in India worshipping India as a Goddess and Banaras Hindu University after a boat ride. Return Royal Rajasthan on Wheels for breakfast. Visit Sarnath and Archeological Museum. Sarnath is the place where Lord Buddha delivered his first major sermon after gaining enlightenment, Chinese scholar Hiuen Tsang visited Sarnath in 640 A.D. Lunch at Hotel Gateway Taj Ganges and return to Royal Rajasthan on Wheels for rest. Evening visit of Ghat-Maha-Aarti at the Ghat Ritualistic Worship (Aarti) to the River at Dahsawmegh Ghat, oil lamps and incense are lit, flowers are offered and bells ring out in unison while sacred mantras are chanted. Return to Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, Dinner on board, departure for Agra. Day 7 : Saturday Agra - Taj Mahal - Breakfast on board 7.30 A.M. Arrival at Agra - 10.00 A.M. Departure for Delhi 9.00 P.M. Visit of Agra Fort Originally made of bricks, this monument was built by Babur, the first Mughal Emperor. Apart from this, Agra Fort has seen many phases in Mughal Dynasty. Emperor Akbar rebuilt the fort with red sandstone and decided to make this city his fortified capital. Delhi's Red Fort is even inspired by Agra Fort, which is presently the world heritage site. Taj Mahal The poetry carved in marble, Taj Mahal is a marvelous architectural specimen belonging to India. Built by Emperor Shah Jehan as a dedication to his wife Arjumand Bano, Taj Mahal is one of the recent wonders of the world. Originally a tomb, this fascinating structure was built over 17 years with the efforts of around 20,000 workers including artisans who were experts in Pietra Dura inlay work. This inlay work was carved with precious and semi precious stones. For centuries this monument has served the world as a peaceful face of India. In the year 1983, this marble mausoleum has been termed as a world heritage site.
